Help Professor Higgins Help the Kids and Families of St. Jude
Most of you are familiar with the St. Jude Runs. The initial run, Memphis to Peoria, was begun in part by current Peoria County Sheriff Mike McCoy. I have been a long time participant in one of the other runs, the Tri-County St. Jude Run. On August 3rd, we run a 53 mile loop from downtown Peoria, through Peoria, Tazewell and Woodford counties, ending up back in downtown Peoria 12 hours after we began. Our run is possibly the most difficult of runs considering the miles we cover in the time we cover them and the terrain, hills to cornfields to the major bridges in Central Illinois. If you want to run with us, several students and former students have, find and talk to me and I can give you more information. Regardless, what I would like all of our students to consider is to make a donation of $5 or more. The price of a cup of coffee at Starbucks will go a long way towards helping St. Jude provide the best medical care available to a child Cancer patient and housing, food and other support for that child's family.
We have had current and former students who have needed the services of St. Jude for their children. We have seen miracles and loss of life. And being students who serve the Public, we have always had a great response from our students in supporting this cause.
You can donate with checks made payable to the St. Jude Tri-County run and given or left for me. Or the easiest way to donate is to go online here
