Dear Professor Weghorst,

It is with great pleasure that I write to invite you and the students of Illinois Central College’s Paralegal Program to the 28th Annual Legal Educational Seminar to be held on Friday, September 15, 2017 at the Doubletree Hotel in Bloomington, IL.  We will have dynamic speakers presenting topics on pro-bono work, 4th Amendment issues, elder law, the role of the coroner in regard to the opioid epidemic, organized crime, and ethics.

At the Legal Educational Seminar paralegal students will spend the day among others who share in their interest of law.  We are anticipating 90 or more legal professionals in attendance this year. The day will provide students an opportunity to develop professional relationships with those working within the local legal community.

We will have a mentor assigned to the students throughout the day. This mentor will stay with the student throughout the seminar and during lunch. The mentor will provide the opportunity for questions regarding the legal profession, introduce them to paralegals and attorneys in the legal community, and to be of any help to the student throughout the day.

The Central Illinois Paralegal Association is a strong advocate of paralegal education.  Each year during the seminar CIPA holds a raffle, and the proceeds benefit grant recipients the following year. In addition, to encourage student attendance, the registration fee for this year has been lowered to $30.00 per student. The $30.00 will cover the cost of each student’s lunch at the Doubletree.  CIPA is happy to provide all other expenditures.  Further, CIPA is pleased to offer educational grants for complimentary registration for those needing assistance.  We are anxious to include as many students as are interested. This is a great opportunity to listen to outstanding speakers and surround themselves with paralegals and attorneys who are happy to spend the day networking with them.

We will be sending you more information as it becomes available.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.

I hope you and your students are able to accept this invitation. We look forward to hearing from you.
