Peoria Police Recruit Application and Testing Process

POLICE RECRUIT PEORIA, ILLINOIS
2019 Salary: $60,630.49 after Certified Training


APPLICATION DEADLINE: Applications must be received by 5:00 p.m., Monday, April 29, 2019 or postmarked or faxed by April 29, 2019.
Application must include the following:
1.  Photocopy of Driver's License.
2.  Photocopy of Birth Certificate. NOTE: This should be a copy of the registered (or certified) birth certificate, which is on file at the courthouse in the county of birth. The hospital certificate (with the footprints of the newborn) is NOT an acceptable document.
3.  Photocopy of High School Diploma OR High School Transcript OR GED Certificate.  (You still need to submit a copy of your High School Diploma, High School Transcript or GED Certificate even if you have received a college degree.)

Study guides for the written examination will be mailed to candidates as we receive the completed application with the required documents.

ORIENTATION (Not Mandatory-But you would be a Fool not to attend) 
 In addition to the general orientation, there will be discussions on interview preparation and techniques on how to interview with the Police Department and Fire and Police Commission.

WRITTEN EXAM (Mandatory) – This testing period there will be three (3) tests available to choose from to test.  One (1) evening test and two (2) daytime tests will be offered to take the written examination.  You will only attend one examination date of your choice.  NO ONE ADMITTED AFTER 6:00 p.m. or 9:00 am (No exceptions)

Applicants are strongly encouraged to wear athletic shoes (sneakers), long pants with belt loops, and a shirt.  You will be performing physical acts that demonstrate strength, agility and endurance, and it important to be outfitted in attire that does not hinder your performance.  Due to the nature of the job of a Police Officer and the simulated tasks applicants will be asked to complete a medical waiver and please expect that you will get dirty.
