Internship Opportunity with Attorney Donald Jackson, Peoria, Illinois

INTERNSHIP POSITION AVAILABLE 

 

 

DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Filing 

  • Answering Phones 

 

TASKS AS ASSIGNED 

  • Draft document preparation 

  • Draft letter preparation 

  • Memorandum preparation 

  • Dictation 

  • Case law research 

  • Interviewing potential clients 

  • Scheduling clients & hearings 

  • E-Filing in both federal and state Courts 

  • Emailing Court clerks & opposing counsel 

  • Assisting with Zoom hearing set-up 

  • Reviewing/compiling discovery & determining completeness of same, making requests when requested documents are missing 

  • Entering attorney time from attorney diary 

  • Tracking Paralegal/Legal Secretary Time 

  • Tracking copy and postage charges per client 

 

REQUIRED SKILLS 

  • Fluency in MS Windows, Word & Excel 

  • Ability to multi-task 

  • Ability to learn new tasks quickly, with minimal direction 

  • Proper grammar skills, ability to converse with attorneys and clients in a professional manner 

 

PREFERRED SKILLS 

  • Background/familiarity with basic accounting and billing procedures 

  • Familiarity with administrative law 

  • Familiarity with Sage Timeslips 

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION/APPLICATION PROCEDURE
