The Law Office of Nina R. Gougis has an opening for a part-time paralegal/legal assistant in its Pekin location. Practice areas include bankruptcy, family law, juvenile law, employment law, school/education law, and civil rights litigation.
Duties typically include, but are not limited to, answering phones, responding to voicemails, fielding and responding to initial inquiries from potential clients, scheduling appointments, scheduling and noticing up court hearings, preparing legal documents and correspondence, and consulting with clients by phone or video conferencing.
Ideal candidates will be extremely self-motivated and disciplined, naturally inquisitive, technologically savvy (proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Zoom video conferencing); and a fast learner. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must.
It is preferred that the days worked are the same each week. It is anticipated that the hours required will be 15-20 hours each week. This position may evolve into a full-time position.
